Good morning ladies! I started my blog this week and I thought I’d introduce myself. My name is Andrea, I am 20 years old and live in sunny Tucson, AZ 🌵. I am a business student at the University of Arizona where I hope to one day open a boutique exclusively for fashion forward activewear.

I’ve been contemplating on starting a blog for a while now but never knew where to start. Finally, one night I said fuck it. I’m doing this. And I did it. My goal for this blog is to bring content based on fashion, beauty, and of course fitness!

The Fit Girl’s Handbook | Let’s talk about Amino Acids 

Amino Acids or BCAAs, we’ve all seen the fitness gurus raving about them. You can find Paige Hathaway, Ana Cheri, Buff Bunny, etc posing along side them in every Instagram picture. So what are they? Why are they so important?

What are Amino Acids?

The body makes 11 Amino Acids by itself, however it needs the other 9 to be able to function. These are know as the essential Amino Acids. Amino Acids is what makes up the protein. Basically, think about protein and Amino Acids as a wall of cement and bricks. The aminos are the cement and bricks is the protein. You need both cement and bricks to build a wall. Same goes with your body, you need both the aminos and protein to build muscle.

Amino acid supplement benefits:

  1. Helps develop lean muscle: Leucine found in amino acid supplements regulate and improve muscle protein synthesis. Stimulated by the stress of your workout and encouraged by the jolt of leucine, then, your muscles will have everything they need to grow
  2. Increased endurance: 
  3. Help burn fat:  For those trying to lose some body fat, or athletes training on a low-carb diet, then, BCAAs will help your body make the switch to depending on fat for fuel.
  4. Reduced fatigue: Normally, when your BCAA levels drop, your body produces more tryptophan which then becomes serotonin in your brain and leads to feelings of tiredness and mental fatigue. BCAA supplements prevent this process.

This is why I like to take my ánimos before I start my day, or in the middle of my workout.

Which brand is right for me? 

There are many Amino Acids in the market today. Personally, I struggle taking my aminos in liquid form because I’m picky when it comes to taste, so I get the pill form. It is up to you how you choose to take your aminos. Some of my favorite brands:

The secret to getting Sold-Out sneakers 

Oh the frustration, you have an eye on a certain pair of sneakers, only to see that they’re SOLD OUT EVERYWHERE.. No problem, I found a solution, the secret is the GOAT app.

Basically, people sell their new or used shoes on this app. I bought myself the adidas nmd that everyone is raving over and I bought my boyfriend a white pair as well.


What’s so great about this site is that you don’t have to worry about authenticity. When the seller ships the shoes, they are sent directly to the goat warehouse where they authenticate it. If the shoes pass the authenticity test, GOAT then ships them to you.

If you’re looking for more options, I also recommend POSHMARK, MERCARI, and SHOEJUNKYZ. The only downfall to those websites is that you have to authenticate them yourself so you put yourself at risk a little more. However, it’s all about doing your research and being a smart shopper.

DIY Lash Extensions

We’ve all thought about it, to get eyelash extensions or not get eyelash extensions?  I’m always looking for ways to make my makeup regime easier, especially when you like to go to the gym. You want to look presentable yet, not wear a full face of makeup. There are so many amazing benefits that come with eyelash extensions;

  1. HELLO, wake up everyday looking flawless and wide awake
  2. Shorter time getting ready. I know I spend maybe 50% getting ready on my eyelashes, perfecting the curl, applying ten million coats of mascara.. applying falsies, waiting for glue to dry.. you get it.
  3. Finally, lashes ALWAYS look fabulous.

BUT, THEY’RE SO DAMN EXPENSIVE. Getting them on for the first time can range anywhere from $200-$400 depending where you go, then you have to pay an ADDITIONAL $50-$80 TO GET THEM FILLED EVERY WEEK. No one has that kind of money, at least I don’t.

I found an easy and AFFORDABLE way to get those beautiful lashes at home.

Step 1: Go to your local convenience or beauty store and get the ardell individual lashes starter kit, $10


2. Now, sit in a bright lit room in from of a mirror, I found it works best when you use a magnified mirror. Make sure all your makeup is removed, especially your eye area.

3. The shape you are looking to achieve is completely up to you. As you can see, the eyelashes come in three different lengths: Long, short, medium. I like to apply the medium lashes all over and then go over with the short lashes in the inner corner of the eye and put the long lashes wherever I want more length. I like the wispy look so I put the long lashes towards the outer end of my eyes.

4. Get the tweezers that come with the kit and the clear adhesive bottle. You can either drop some glue on a surface however, I like to just dip the lash into the bottle like so:


5. Make sure you only apply glue on the tip of the lash. Putting more glue will not make the adhesive stronger, just messier and clumpier.

Hopefully you can see the clear glue at the very tip of the lash. That is the perfect amount of glue that the lash should have.

6. Apply the lash on your own eyelash as close as the lash line as possible. DO NOT APPLY ON THE SKIN. Trust me, it will hurt. These are not like ordinary strip lashes.

Here I have only applied a few for demonstration. They look a little white because the glue has not completely dried.


7. Keep applying lashes till you achieve your desired look.


Make sure you follow the regular after care procedures as you would with salon eyelash extensions.

  • Do not wash your face for at LEAST 24 hours. This is crucial as the glue needs to dry completely
  • Try to sleep on your back for at least 2 nights. Again, your eyelashes are still drying and you don’t want to mess them up. After the 2 nights, you may resume sleeping as desired.
  • Try not to apply mascara or curl your eyelashes. The point of lash extensions is so you don’t have to do anything to them.

I tested out the adhesive removal just for you guys. To be honest the experience is dreadful. It is almost impossible to get the suckers off. What I did is I dipped a small brush into the remover and applied it all over the extensions. NOPE, it just didn’t want to come off. I spent maybe 2 hours trying to get them to budge and I only managed to get couple off. My suggestion is to keep them on, they will shed along with your natural lash growth cycle. These are a commitment. Do not plan to have them on just for a couple of days.
